I'm not a hardcore feminist or anything, but....

My place is not in the kitchen. My place is not cleaning up after men. My place is not doing the laundry or raising kids. I am probably way more intelligent than the average man. I will not accept laziness or complacency in men. I do not take being threatened well, by either men or women. It's not a joke to me if you say you're going to hit me. I will hit you right back, and harder.

My place is doing whatever the fuck I please, and if you end up with me you better know your way around an oven.

So there.

What you Should be listening to......

Dan Eldon

Dan Eldon was a photojournalist that covered the conflict in Somalia in the 90's. And he was good at it. And he was attractive. And his journals are amazing. And he is amazing.

Friends of the Bride

In case you haven't noticed, there is a very strong vintage scene going on in England right now. I've probably mentioned it before in this blog. Well, my love for Velvet Cave Vintage led me to be invited to and event called The Stagnant Society. I was messaged about it on facebook by a guy named Bobby. This guy is in a band-Friends of the Bride. Hence, my newest vintage scene discovery.
The band has a jazzy side, and they sound like a remastered early 60's group. And the vocals, I mean! The singer- the aforementioned Bobby guy- has that perfect male voice, low but not ridiculous low. And the cheekbones are nice, haha!

Coffin Joe is a Beast

So, if you didn't already know, I'm a massive fan of The Horrors. And as a massive fan I have favorite members. My two favorites are Joshua Third and Coffin Joe. But Joe gets the most points in my book for this little display....

Go white boy, go!

I'm in a Joy Division kind of mood.

If you haven't already, buy "Unknown Pleasures". Do it.

Omegle!!

Talk about a genius idea. Why did it take this long to put into action? Omegle is a site where all you do is talk to strangers. You don't have to sign up or sign in, an no personal information is shared (unless of course you're an idiot and give away your name, email, location, facebook page, etc.). Just last night I had an amazing conversation with a guy from Canada. Seriously amazing. So amazing that I felt bad when I disconnected (he asked for a screen name, I have a rule against giving away stuff like that). I'll probably never come into contact with him again, but I really enjoyed chatting with him. This site is a genius way to have fun. You can be anybody you want to be, and talk to someone without feeling awkward. There is the occasional creep who will start the conversation with something along the lines of "i'm horny", but there's always that lovely Disconnect button. And no one can find you after you disconnect! Amazing. I've found a whole new way to spend time on the internet!.

I Am a Libertine

"They scream and they shout for the boys in the band...."

The Libertines went out waaaay too early. Thank god for Babyshambles, Dirty Pretty Things, and Pete Doherty's solo project. Carl Barat and Pete Doherty are some seriously talented motherfuckers. And back in the early aughts Carl Barat got voted sexiest man in NME. I concur.

BTW-The newest Pete Doherty solo album is the shit. So good. Check it out.

THE HORRORS IN US VOGUE!

I did not know about this! How did I not know about this? Why weren't message boards publicly blowing up with news about this?!!! They're very stylish gents, to be sure, and have been featured in a magazine before for their style (in the music issue of Anthem a couple of years ago, it had Interpol on the cover). You will not believe the excitement I felt in the bookstore as I was flipping pages....it was intense. I bought it on the spot, even though I usually spend my money on coffee. Enjoy the pics!

Alejandro!

LADY GAGA, is there anyone else worth talking about? I think not. I mean, she's so fucking fabulous that Madonna even said she had the "it factor". And that's a really high endorsement. I mean, she's got a new album out (sorta, since it was released seperately Billboard regards it as a different album) and her previous one is still on the top five Soundscan sellers list! That's the kind of success worth dealing with hermaphodyte rumors for.
And no, I don't believe those rumors. If you're able to wear all those leotards and have no bulge whatsoever, you are certainly a female. No doubt about that. But I do have questions about that new music video, namely, What the fuck is going on?! I know I'm not the only one who was more than a little confused when she lit the bed on fire, right?
And both she and I seem to share a love of Hispanic men. And I'm okay with that. It's too bad that her tour is doing three shows in Chicago, but absolutely none in Cleveland! I call bullshit. You know what would be a great tour? Amanda Blank opening for Lady Gaga. I would pay top dollar for those tickets.
