This post has been a long time coming. At the end of last month I did the yearly AP art field trip to Pittsburgh, comprised of going to the Warhol Museum, the Carnegie Museum of Art, and the Mattress Factory. The Mattress Factory is an installation-based museum. Currently they're showing an exhibit called Gestures, this is the 14th installment. It's a group of local artists creating site-specific works. My favorite one was made by Robert Villamagna. It's real things people have said to him, put into speech bubbles over little character representations of the people who said them. So cool. Very pop art.
