Cured.

I have discovered that the perfect cure for country music overload is Glam Rock!! I threw on some Queen and felt all better. And while I was at it, I contemplated how amazing glam rock was. It was the zenith of androgynous fashion, and it was massively fabulous.

Country Music

I wanna kill whoever invented country music. And I want them to die slowly and painfully, none of this immediate death and minimal pain crap. I am being forced to listen to this crime against music (and nature, for that matter!) every fucking day at my senior project and it has GOT to STOP.

No one gives a shit about your truck, your woman, your honkey tonk whatever, your dogs, your gun, or your motherfucking cowboy hat. So stop it! Oh my god and that awful guitar that sounds the same on every single track! Why do so many people listen to this crap? It's horrible! I know that all the gun-toting, liberal-hating, tax evading republicans LOVE it, but what the fuck?! There is absolutely nothing charming about that weird voice all those country "stars" sing in. And I put stars in quotes because everybody in their right mind has never heard of any of these pioneers of terrible ear and head pain.

All of us normal people should ban together to shut down CMT and WGAR and all those who advocate this shite. Sure it would be a bit like the crusades, but we'll all be much happier for it. And besides, it can't possibly do any harm to get rid of a bunch of middle-aged white people, can it? Lord knows there are plenty of them.

Oh, and one more thing, JOHNNY CASH IS NOT, I repeat NOT COUNTRY MUSIC. He's rockabilly, just like Presley and Lewis and all of those kickass people. In fact those in country music at the time hated Johnny Cash! Just setting the record straight. You can like Johnny Cash and still hate country.

Thanks.

In honor of Ian

We still miss you, brilliant, beautiful man.

H'okay, so I've been listening to a lot of music made by females, which is why all of this is on my mind. I don't understand sexism. Whoever thought that women didn't deserve the same rights as men? As long as it can be scientifically proven (and it can, and has, and as far as I know no one's questioning it) that women are of the same species as men there should be no question as to whether or not we deserve the same pay or the same general rights as men. Just because genetically men are stronger (and with some, as we all know, this is not the case) doesn't mean that in the modern world they're still dominant.
Yes, back in prehistoric times it was the man's job to conk the sabertooth over the head and drag it home, which is where the notion of male dominance started. But nowadays that's completely irrelevant! Physical strength no longer equals superiority (hell just look at Bill Gates!). So how can men still view themselves as better? If we go according to Darwinism, a lot of men would die out. It's survival of the fittest, mate, so make your own goddamn sandwich.
And really, there's nothing at all funny about those "jokes". They're offensive and rude and completely outdated. When a guy friend tells me to shut up and get back in the kitchen, I slap him in the face. Really, sexist men, is that what you want? To have a permanent red mark on your face? I don't think so.
Also, thinking on physical strength, the female body was essentially created to handle intense pain. And it's very common knowledge that women handle pain way better than any man (just ask your local tattoo artist).
So all of these misogynists really aren't helping themselves. A woman's place is not in the kitchen, it is not having babies, and it is NOT making you a fucking sandwich. In the immortal (well, not yet, but someday immortal) words of Dee Plume and Sue Denim of the band Robots in Disguise- "We're double X and proud of it!"

US Government in a Nutshell

WAKE UP!!!!

I sooooo want the Robot Blue lipstick.

.

My friends are brilliant. Which is why I became friends with them in the first place. But I should probably think about actually keeping in touch with them. You know, the occassional call or text. But I'm one of those people who just pauses a friendship when said friend goes to college or something, expecting to pick right back up. I'll work it out eventually. Let's all keep that in mind.

Let us celebrate the foreign glamour of boys...

This blog entry is about BOYS. Yes, they are majorly suckish at times, but overall us straight girls and gay men just can't live without them! The world is full of beautiful men, and it is with great pleasure that I honour them here:

"We like...
your skin
flat chest
shoulders square
cock
sex
broken voices
skinny hips
shape
synthesis
sinew
bass
metal

We like, we like, we like"

DAMIEN HIRST

Today, whilst paroozing the modern/contemporary gallery at my local art museum (Cleveland Museum of Art) I discovered our recently displayed Damien Hirst tryptich (it's on loan from a private collection). I just want to stare at it until I day. It's beautiful in every way. Kind of disgusting if you really think about it, but mostly just beautiful. It's in the same vane as the picture here, but in a different shape and in three, not one. These butterfly pieces are utterly beautiful, I wish I had thought of it first.

You've Got a Mighty Boosh!

We all fucking love the Mighty Boosh, don't we?! There is no better show/live show/etc out there that compares. Well, The Inbetweeners and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia come close, but they're in different arenas of comedy anyway. I hear they're planning an extended American tour (Score!!!), and I hope they end up somewhere near me. It's time to expand their comedic empire to the whole of the USA (despite the fact that us Americans don't really deserve it based on history, but oh well). I'm eager to hear some dates, fellas.
